The reading underscored the possible\u00a0<b>severe adverse effects of the coronavirus<\/b>\u00a0outbreak to the US economy. Analysts tend to note that the release instigated a\u00a0<b>market reaction<\/b>\u00a0which practically factors in the fact that the\u00a0<b>US economy will be hit hard<\/b>. On the other hand, it should be note that\u00a0<b>US stock-markets had a rather good day<\/b>\u00a0yesterday as they rose, providing a glimpse of hope. Also, the fact that the US Senate\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ironfx.com\/en\/usd-weakens-as-labour-data-are-to-be-released\"><b>passed a 2.2 trillion stimulus<\/b><\/a>, while at the same time US politicians in the House of Representatives assured the US that it will also\u00a0<b>pass the bill with a strong bipartisan majority<\/b>\u00a0improved sentiment somewhat. Please note that the\u00a0<b>House of Representatives<\/b>\u00a0is to\u00a0<b>vote on the bill today<\/b>, while the US president stated that he will\u00a0<b>sign the bill as soon as it clears<\/b>\u00a0from the US Congress. Should the\u00a0<b>USD continue to weaken<\/b>\u00a0in today\u2019s European and American session, we could see it having\u00a0<b>one of its worse weeks<\/b>\u00a0for the past\u00a0<b>ten years<\/b>. EUR\/USD rallied yesterday breaking consecutively the 1.0955 (S2) and the 1.1010 (S1) resistance lines, now turned to support and tested the 1.1060 (R1) resistance hurdle. We maintain a bullish outlook for the pair as it remains above the upward trendline incepted since Monday the 23rd of the month, which please note, has steepened its slope. Should the bulls remain in control over the pair\u2019s direction, we could see it breaking the 1.1060 (R1) line and aim for the 1.1120 (R2) level. Should the bears take over, we could see the pair breaking the 1.1010 (S1) support line and aim for lower grounds.<\/p>\n<h3>Pound strengthens traders eye BoE interest rate decision<\/h3>\n<p>The\u00a0<b>pound strengthened<\/b>\u00a0against a number of its counterparts yesterday and\u00a0<b>especially the USD<\/b>\u00a0as grim\u00a0<b>US employment data were released<\/b>. It should be noted that the\u00a0<b>pound had weakened considerably<\/b>\u00a0in the past days as worries about the\u00a0<b>corona virus outbreak in the UK<\/b>\u00a0and its possible\u00a0<b>adverse economic effects were intensifying<\/b>. As expected,\u00a0<b>BoE remained on hold<\/b>\u00a0yesterday\u00a0<b>maintaining rates at the lowest of levels<\/b>\u00a0of +0.10% as it had already\u00a0<b>proceeded twice with rate cuts<\/b>\u00a0in March. Also, despite the bank maintaining its QE program and its lending program unchanged, at the same time it stated that it was\u00a0<b>prepared for further action<\/b>. Also, the bank stated that it will\u00a0<b>monitor<\/b>\u00a0whether\u00a0<b>commercial banks<\/b>\u00a0will pass on the\u00a0<b>lowering of its interest rates<\/b>, in order to ease credit terms for the market. Finance minister Rishi Sunak on Thursday rolled out a package to pay\u00a0<b>80 percent of the earnings of self-employed people<\/b>\u00a0who\u00a0<b>lost income because of the lockdown<\/b>\u00a0of the country. The measures were on top of prior measures of\u00a0<b>300 billion pounds for distressed businesses<\/b>. Cable also rallied yesterday breaking all of our resistance levels and turning them into support lines, as it landed above the 1.2200 (S1) level. We could see the pair maintaining an upward direction today should the positive sentiment for the pair\u2019s long positions continue. However, as the RSI indicator below our chart tends to confirm the dominance of the bulls by reaching the reading of 70, at the same time we could see the pair\u2019s long positions getting overcrowded. Should cable\u2019s long positions be favored by the market, we could see it breaking the 1.2400 (R1) line and aim for the 1.2580 (R2) level. Should the pair come under the selling interest of the market we could see it breaking the 1.2200 (S1) line and aim for the 1.2015 (S2) level.<\/p>\n<h3>Other economic highlights today and early tomorrow<\/h3>\n<p>Today, we get UK\u2019s nationwide house prices index for March.
