Your own data protection
While our efforts are concentrated on data protection, there is also a personal element to data safety. Here’s what you can do to prevent your information from getting into the wrong hands.
Beware of Phishing
Phishing is one of the most common methods scammers use to access your personal data. It usually involves scammers contacting potential victims pretending to be a trusted authority of a service they are using. They will often send links to fake websites that resemble the real link, or urge you to share your information so that certain actions can be taken.

Phishing is dangerous because a single lapse in attention can get you caught. Be aware that:
- All official IronFX emails are sent from addresses ending with @ironfx.com
- The official domain is ironfx.com – missing letters, other top-level domains (.net, .org), additional punctuation (iron-fx, iron.fx), and misspellings are all signs of danger
- Our website uses full encryption and will always display the https:// tag.
Protect your device from malware
Viruses and malware are additional methods of cybercriminals accessing your data. If your device is infected, hackers may download your data or remotely access your account to change transaction details or make withdrawals.
To protect yourself, avoid downloading files from untrusted sources, and make sure your device is protected by anti-malware software. Run regular checkups to make sure your device is secure.
Ensure your login is secure
Cybercriminals often gain access to emails, especially accounts that people have used for a long time or without strong security measures.
This poses a major security risk, as attackers can compromise all accounts connected to that email. Creating a fresh email solely for our brokerage services can drastically reduce that risk and prevent any past mistakes from affecting your current trading experience.

Likewise, strong passwords, containing upper and lowercase letters, numerals, and symbols, can make it significantly more difficult for hackers to access your account. Never use passwords that contain your name or family name, birth dates, pet names, and the like. Avoid passwords that you have used before.
Strong passwords can be difficult to remember, so make sure you either use a password manager or more secure analog methods like writing them down on a piece of paper. Lastly, it’s advisable to use authenticators, as they will require an attacker to access both your account and email to do any harm.
Cybercriminals falsifying IronFX Telegram, WhatsApp, emails
Cybercriminals will pretend to be a part of our organisation as a means of abusing your trust and urging you into action. Please be aware that we will never:
- Contact you through unofficial means (calls, IronFX Telegram, WhatsApp, other messaging apps)
- Request your full credit card number
- Request your password or other sensitive information
- Request direct transfers from your account or deposits via alternative methods like cryptocurrency
- Offer to manage your assets
- Offer financial advice
